Reclaiming Connection in an Age of Isolation
In a profession where isolation, burnout, and perfectionism quietly take their toll, the greatest treatment we can offer may not be clinical—it’s connection. By choosing collaboration over control, empowerment over micromanagement, and vulnerability over image, we create honest, healthy cultures where teams thrive and patients feel seen. This isn’t just about avoiding burnout—it’s about building practices rooted in purpose, authenticity, and sustainable growth.
Despite facing a severe speech impediment and learning disability, Robert Ferrell barely graduated from high school. He has embraced failure as an opportunity for growth, believing that challenges shape and strengthen us. As a dentist, he enjoys the irony that everyone has a speech impediment when his hands are in their mouth.
Robert is a Periodontist and practiced in Ogden for 22 years. In 2021, he sold his practice to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife were called as mission leaders in Lima, Peru, overseeing one of the smallest missions in the world—a compact 10x12-mile area with a population equal to that of Utah (3.5 million).
Now practicing part-time in Provo as a Periodontist, Robert is also a senior partner at Accepted Therapy and Coaching, where he serves as an executive coach for business and religious leaders, helping them connect, engage, and inspire the rising generation. Additionally, he is the president of Awaken, a charitable foundation that provides humanitarian aid to underprivileged communities locally and globally. Robert believes we are facing a profound crisis today—not just of faith, identity, or direction, but a crisis of connection.
