Dental Professional

Presented by Heather Rogers, BSDH

This two-hour course will discuss the Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for Dentistry and subsequent updates regarding proper infection control standards and recommendations.  Believe it or not, this class is fun because it involves your participation as well as mine.  I like to have everyone ask questions throughout our time together to keep things interesting and germane to you and your concerns.

  • Differentiate between OSHA and CDC Guidelines
  • Demonstrate how to avoid cross contamination in your practice
  • Concentrate on safe implementation of inexpensive practices to protect you, personnel, and your patients
  • Review the Centers for Disease Control infection control guidelines

Biofilm Focused Care

If you were asked, “what varnish do you use?” Would you automatically think of the brand name of your fluoride varnish? In this course we will discuss how varnishes can vary in patient delivery for fluoride and chlorhexidine and why it is so great for mitigating sensitivity. We will dive into the chemistry behind the varnishes and indications for use. You will be confident in selecting the appropriate varnish for your patients for protection from caries and start to go deeper into a biofilm focused care mindset.
